M. Hildred Blewett Scholarship

To enable early-career women to return to physics research careers after having had to interrupt those careers for family reasons. The scholarship consists of a one-year award of up to $45,000 (applicants can apply in a subsequent year for one additional year of support). Allowed expenses include dependent care (limited to 50% of the award), salary, travel, equipment, and tuition and fees.

 

American Association of University Women (AAUW) - USA

Career Development Grants support women who hold a bachelor's degree and who are preparing to advance their careers, change careers, or re-enter the work force. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.

 

 

Daphne Jackson Trust

 

Daphne Jackson Trust Fellowship - UK

The Trust implements a Fellowship scheme to enable a return to careers in science or engineering through updated knowledge and renewed professional skills. The applicant must have taken a break of at least two years from a science/engineering/technology related career, have attained at least a first degree, be resident in the United Kingdom, be fluent in English, have basic computing skills.

 

 

 

Department of Science and Technology - India

The "Women Scientists Scheme (WOS)" has been evolved by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) for providing opportunities to women scientists and technologists between the age group of 30-50 years who desire to return to mainstream science and work as bench-level scientists. Three categories of scholarships, with research grants, are available for Indian citizen. Scholarships are envisaged in both institutional and non-institutional modes. Under the institutional mode, national and state-level organizations, recognized universities, educations and R&D laboratories would be considered for grant by the Department.
